Out of the Ashes and Into the Fire
I lost all of the songs on my hard drive a few months back, and I’ve been slowly piecing back together what I used to have while downloading loads of new music. This can prove to be distracting, and hinders the whole process of remembering exactly what music you lost when there’s gigs upon gigs can be challenging. I just remembered about a band that a friend of mine turned me on to while I was still living in Myrtle Beach, SC.
The Firebird Band was formed and is lead by Chris Broach, who provided guitar and vocals for legendary Chicago indie band Braid. Keeping with the Chicago spirit, he started The Firebird Band as a side project. It’s serious shit too.
Not so much super electro in your face dance dance dance, more intelligent, rocking, and fun. I just re-downloaded their album from iTunes and if you’re into these tracks, do the band a favor and do so yourself.
